  2.  Kervyn Ducker  You know keeping fish stocks would be expensive? First you need to get the capcity to do so, then you need to actually stock it (at freezing temperature if you want to keep it fine, though it will never again be considerd fresh), ... The cost of storing it might be higher than the price you get for it after. And selling to the rest of the world is stupid. Maybe you can sell a small part elsewhere, but 1) cost would increase and freshness goes down, 2) it would have to compete with fresh cheaper fish from local fishers/closer fishing grounds and 3) tarrifs would be applied. No, if you can't sell the fish in the EU, you won't be able to build up your fishing industry.

It is if you border the nation which might be untrustworthy (for example look at the internal market bill). fishing isn't necessarily in it normally, but this is because of the situation from the last few decades. And even if the EU gives in on fishing, the UK is not ready to really fish its waters and 70% of fish caught in UK fishing waters goes to the EU. In the end fishing is economically insignificant to the UK, it is purely symbolic. The fishing problem is much more complex than most people think, but I am sure if everything else was settled, fishing would be quickly worked out.
