  1. I would say the german tiger tanks were probably the best tanks in the war, but like said earlier maybe a bit overengineered. The germans were taken by surprise when the soviets used the kv tanks and had to quickly put into production tanks that weren't yet fully developed to counter the strong russian tanks. To make matters worse around the same time the tiger I production spiked and the tiger II production needed to get underway the german industry was being bombed to shit. A pre-WW II german industry might, if given enough time, have been able to eventually also mass produce (relatively speaking ofcourse) the tiger tanks, definitely if they had more time to adapt the design to a more mass producable design after the production started, there just was no time for that now.

  3. +Luredreier I did say they were overengineered and rushed into development. My entire point was that if they had the time the tiger tanks could have been the best tanks despite their overengineering. As for the tanks production, as much tiger I's were produced in 44 as in 43, seeing 43 could be considered as their first full year of production, the production rate should have gone up. The nazi's needed to move a lot of their industry to more secure locations. Pure numbers showing an increase of production doesn't say much, because in normal operations (no strategical bombardments) the production could have been even higher. Basically the tiger tank was one of if not the strongest tank of the war, the nazi's just lost the means of properly developing/producing them due to the way the war was going. I don't know why you start talking about the IS-2 like someone already brought it up seeing this isn't the case
