EU parliament has actually got quite some power, the problem is that the EU isn't one nation, which limits what the parliament really can get in power. Also I'd say that the EU is actually trying so much to be democratic that it has become rather complex to many people not really informed, which causes the 'bureaucracy' criticism to really be used more.

Isn't this essentially the problem in every (large) country? Hell, even in society at large bubbles like this are everywhere: in political leanings, social and economic demographies, regional bubbles, ... Essentially the best way to combat this bubble forming is the have citizen panels/surveys about things were it matters (like certain policies/new laws). This way you can understand the viewpoint of society at large and the different groups within it. Now, this ofcourse would cause it to take more time and resources, which obviously will again be used to point at the 'large bureaucracy' of the EU/.... Honestly, I think the EU definitely doesn't do worse than most other large nations/entities. That most employees come from Belgium and Luxembourg isn't really surprising, everyone else will have to move specifically just to do these jobs, these nationalities don't. Obviously having to move to another country/region to do your job might not be really interesting for a lot of people.

14 billion is for the entire space program, not just launch rockets. ESA is involved in a lot more than just that. Btw, there is research being done at this moment for reusable rockets for Ariane 7, which most likely will be a fully reusable rocket imo, not a partial reusable like Falcon 9. It also isn't necessarily that the EU is too bureaucratic, rather there are a lot more spacelaunches done by the US government that can only be flown on US rockets compared to European launches needing to be done on just European launchers. This already is a crucial edge SpaceX (and US companies n general) has on European competitors.

@BioHazardCL4 The UK gets very little refugees compared to other EU nations and if you are talking about the EU immigrants, most of them only go to the UK for a few years, being a net positive to the UK economy and system (no education costs, elderly care, little health costs, ... while still paying taxes on their income).

@BioHazardCL4 Except EU immigration doesn't destroys UK culture, since these immigrants come and go, they don't usually settle for their entire life. At worst you'd get some minor communities being made up by these immigrants, but that shouldn't be problem unless your country doesn't have a culture of its own. Regarding non-EU migration, the UK has very little of that which comes through Europe, most comes directly to the UK and often has links with UK's colonial history rather than the EU and as it happens, the UK had full authority in non-EU immigration. Even regarding EU immigration the UK didn't use all the tools allowed to control/guide it, which means it was a problem of the UK government, not the EU. How specifically was the UK's culture/identity being destroyed?

Isn't this similar to the UK? How much of the british administration do you think is representative for the poorer area's, probably few. And this isn't about MP's mind you, but the cabinets and the layers underneath. In truth most governments of large countries will have underrepresentation of poorer demographies in their administration, especially when talking about big countries/regions.

Space is the next frontier for humans, just like the America's once was for the Europeans. There are a lot of valuable resources in space. If humanity expanded into space its population isn't limited to a few billion, more like a few trillions with almost no way for human civilization to be ended, unlike on earth were there are many possible scenario's for human extinction. And ofcourse space expansion is much more than just more living space and resources, it is also better technology, bettery medical appliances, ...

@Gabriel902884 One of the problems with the nationalist anti-EU rhetoric regarding immigration is that immigration is completely a national power, the EU has no power over its members immigration policies (otherwise we wouldn't be seeing so many differences). Any 'EU' immigration policy with actual real impact is just a treaty memberstates negotiated on and agreed with.
