People apparently don't realise how many trade agreements, FTA's and PTA's, the eu actually has. The EU has among the most trade agreements of all nations, and still people in the UK think they can get even more? Maybe you can if you spend 20+ years on it, make it the most important thing for the UK and even then the question is, will these trade deals be as good? At this moment the EU either has a trade deal or is negotiating one with nearly every nation on the planet.
Oh, and the UK doesn't even has an accepted WTO schedule for the future yet, so it is likely that even your WTO schedule will be worse than the one you have now as a member of the EU.
Brexit never was meant to be good for the UK economy, brexiteers just talked about this great chance to make trade deals, when that didn't panned out, they started talking about WTO as an amazing thing. The truth is, these brexiteers were either liars or ignorant. But it is all good, apparently economics weren't the reason people voted for brexit anyway (although why did brexiteers talk about then?).
Oh and the 8 billion you would save when leaving the EU is expected to be completely wiped out by the loss in economical growth and the hit on the UK economy.
