The Texas GOP voted on referendums to repeal the Voting Rights Act and passed a referendum that they believe the 2020 election results were false. In Missouri a state senator is doing campaign ads with shotguns and body armor talking about going RINO hunting. I do not know that much about the couple of years before 1860. In my opinion history is repeating itself and we are sitting on a box full of unstable dynamite. I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. The worst is going to be ugly.

  17. All funds paid into Social Security are used to buy Special US government bonds that earn interest. It is on their website FAQs. The Special part is they are redeemable for full value at anytime. No waiting period. Congress does not vote to fund Social Security. They vote to decide how much of the Interest payment they are going to make. If the Republicans repeal Social Security not only will those who paid into get rip offed. I see Class Action Lawsuit. The government loses all the money from the purchases of the bonds. They wont have enough money to make payroll. Basically they will Defund the Government. What a bunch of stupid people.

  34. I agree that Ms Swearer is an idiot. However Katie Porter stated something we ALL need to pay attention to. The current gun bill in Congress DOES NOT REMOVE one single weapon that is already in civilian possession. Just like the 1994 law NO LEGALLY OWNED firearms were removed from.circulation NOT ONE. In addition like the old law the new law fixates on cosmetic features and specific types of weapons. Under the old law if a weapon had any 3 of certain features it was considered an Assualt Weapon. Flash hider, bayonet lug, pistol grip, front pistol grip or folding/collapising stock. Gun manufacters made THE EXACT SAME weapons without these features that complied with the regulations and sold more of them. They were still selling Semi Automatic rifles after the ban. There were more of them in circulation. I have owned firearms for years. I do not expect non firearms people to understand the nuances of firearms. Nor should you have to. To have a debate that needs to take place. Understand this. The bill currently in Congress like the previous law is at best a feel good measure. So Congress can say they did something. It will not reduce the number of weapons available on the street. I fully agree the violence being perpetrated on the American public is senseless, gruesome and horrific. I am for Universal background checks no more private sales or gifts. Raise the purchase and possession age to 21 except when being supervised by someone of legal age in activities such as hunting or target shooting. No exception for age for military. Many soldiers who are 18 do not make it to reenlistment. If they buy a gun at home the military would not know. Then if they get kicked out they might be under age and in the possession of a firearm. Tighten up Domestic Violence laws. There are many laws on the books that prevent DV abusers from owning possessing ot purchasing firearms. However most of those laws do not include follow up mechanisms to remove previously owned firearms from the convicted.
