  4. I am going to say something that needs a bit of thought. In the early part of the invasion,Russia was expected to roll over Ukraine in a few weeks by western analysts. Since then Ukraine has taken back over 50 percent of the intial gains. Once the invasion is over is when the hard part called the occupation starts. If Russia had succeeded early the occupation would be difficult now even if Ukraine just threw up its hands and capitulated. The occupation will be downright impossible. The resistance has solidified. It will take more soldiers to occupy Ukraine than Russia has in its military. They simply do not have enough to occupy, maintain the rest of their borders and internal security.
