These are Ukrainian defense numbers. The word eliminated is not used in casualty reports. Killed in Action Wounded in Action Captured Of the 300,000 how many are estimated to fall into each of the categories is question. I take all estimated casualty numbers with a grain of salt. Both sides will make claims of larger enemy losses. Some of this is the desire to look good to their chain of command. Some is bad or misinforned reporting etc. Some is because of the fog of war. In this conflict we see numerous videos showing burned out vehicles. Were those burned out today. Are they being counted twice. Are we being shown the same vehicle from different angles? We have no real way of knowing. What we do know is a war is being fought and peoole are getting wounded and killed because of an old man who will never visit the front.

Adding another force is a bad idea. That puts people in a position where mistakes and accidents that have greater geopolitical ramifications. Adding another force with a separate chain of command and different goals is a recipe for a disaster. Putting a NATO soldier ensures that somebody will get trigger happy. No matter what side the trigger happiness starts the fallout will be a bad thing.

@jollyrogerco9185 Nobody is going to give us a straight answer. The Russians are going to inflate the numbers while Ukraine are going to downplay the casualties. That is the nature of war reporting. There are some western intelligence estimates that I would give weight to but even those will have a thumb on the scale. Take the claim of one side and take the claim of the other. Average them. Compare them with two independent sources such as the AP or Reuters estimates. Somewhere in the middle you can get a spread of numbers that is as probably close to as accurate as we will get until the war is over and history books are written about it.
