  3.  @TheSuburban15  I could have bought one in 1989 for 400 dollars plus a 50 dollar assembly near Ft Polk LA. I did not buy one then.

  4. Probably the only kind you could get in 1986. Internal parts were changed with first Assualt weapons ban. Although the bottom of the bolt carrier looked like a newer one. The AR 15 bolt carrier was modified slightly. By extending the opening in the bottom towards the rear of the bolt carrier. So that it would not strike a properly placed sear.

  5. Very cool work. Looks fun to shoot. One possible area that there could be a problem for long term shooting. The operating rod is hitting on the Gas key tube. The end of that tube was not designed to be struck. Gas simply passed through it. The end of the key may mushroom out over time. The Gas key is held in place by two staked hex head screws. Also check these for damage and possible cracking due to the difference in the way the key is being utilized.
