  1. Drop a couple of pounds of weight for the experimental Jungle rifle setup. Probably knock Ian smooth over. This video is evidence as to why the US military was looking into a different rifle cartridge. Except by some seriously big people it is simply not that controllable. Even then that is questionable. The M14 made a good sniper rifle when upgraded to National Match standards (by qualified gun smiths, not every part or gun in the 1960s was match grade) capable of engaging targets out to 1000M. The Rangers would use them as sniper rifles until the late 1980s.
