  2. That would be a cool thing for a channel to do. Get about 20 shooters and do volley fire at various ranges to determine the true effectiveness. Say from 1000m to 3000 m

  3. At least into the 1950s, military personnel shot at targets out to 1000 meters during training. My understanding of the way it worked is, shoot at close ranges and work outward. As the distance increased only those that got good hits on say the 500 meter targets went on to shoot at the next longer range. This is how people were selected for special training such as sniper or sharpshooter for various units.
