  1. The M249 SAW ammo belts used to be issued in a plastic box. When you walked carrying three of them the rounds slapped up against the plastic. Very very noisy. Is this also an issue for drum magazines?

  2.  @Azguella  Thanks. Not very good when trying to sneak into an ambush position. For the SAW, I learned either take the belt out of the plastic box, made them harder to carry, and might cause feeding problems, or insert a piece of MRE cardboard in front of the rounds inside the box. Both reduced the noise.
