  1. If the rifle came out of crate it is possible that the packing grease was not thoroughly cleaned prior to firing. Also if it was cool or cold it would really gum up that packing grease. If you ever have to remove the packing grease and you are not too worried about the finish of the rifles, diesel fuel works great.
