  1. Trump Derangement Syndrome really should be added to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, when the next edition comes out. Donald Trump's election is the effect (not the cause) of an American populace that just isn't into the rest of the world, anymore. We don't CARE what Europe thinks of us. We don't CARE about the Middle East, any more. We don't need their oil, we have plenty of our own. If the Middle East went up in flames, it would arguably be GOOD for American oil producers. If the Ukrainians cut off Novorossiysk with naval drones, it would arguably be GOOD for American oil producers. Americans have poured out both blood and treasure protecting Europe for the last 70-odd years. And Europe has sneered at "American cowboys" for the last 70-odd years. America is TIRED of propping Europe up. And I say that as one of the shrinking minority of Americans who still see some value in containing Russia. But what do American cowboys know?

If politicians cannot answer criticism of their policies without calling their critics Fascists, they're doing it wrong. The Soviet Union had tightly-controlled media which spouted the party line. How'd that work out for them?

  7. What usually happens to third-parties in the US is that one of the major parties will address the new party's issues and steal their thunder. That didn't happen with immigration, in the US, which is how we got Trump.When the "respectable" politicians refuse to deal with a problem, voters look outside the establishment. The American Establishment has NO ONE to blame but themselves, for the rise of Donald Trump.
