Trump just won the Iowa Caucus with over 50%. He won every county but Johnson County, which he lost by ONE vote.

@robd8577 Peter speaks the business community's "truth". Which ignores the "truth" that globalization has been utterly awful for any American who earns less than $100,000/year. High unemployment is good for the business community, because it drives wages down, but for everyone else, it sucks. Trump's policies drove unemployment to record low levels, allowing wages for American workers to rise more in his first year than they did in the sixteen years of Dubya Bush and Barack Obama's presidencies.

@chaosXP3RT Why would ANYONE be offended by being characterized as uneducated cultists and "deplorables"?

@d-rot Yeah, the Mitt Romney, "Let them eat cake" sort of Republican. Peter mourns the fact that the country club crowd no longer dictates Republican policy. And if MAGA leadership can bring in union workers, the country club crowd won't be missed.

@michaelbrown7142 But whether it is what Peter says it is, is questionable. He makes his money advising American corporations. He's not going to say anything to p¡ss them off. The American business community doesn't like Donald Trump, therefore he's the Bad Orange Man, and Peter will never say otherwise.

@robd8577 Cutting taxes and regs on businesses spurred economic and job growth. Raising tariffs on imports, encouraged that growth to happen in the United states. Restricting immigration tightened the labor market, driving unemployment to record low levels, which caused wages to rise, as employers bid for the smaller labor pool. Or to put it more simply, encourage businesses to grow IN AMERICA, and force them to HIRE AMERICANS.

@sowireless Of course, there will be wage competition. But we can and should even the playing field between American wages and Chinese slave wages. We should NOT be engaging in trade that strengthens our enemies, and we certainly should stop protecting the shipping of our enemies. When America protects everyone else's trade, it SUBSIDIZES their exports. What made sense during the Cold War has become obsolete, now.
