  1. The problem the Republican Party has, is that when the business community wing of the party is in charge, they do NOTHING for the rest of the party. The only thing they are willing to spend political capital on, is tax breaks for their donors. This has prompted the rest of the party to look for alternatives, such as Donald Trump. Peter likes to whine about Trump driving the business community out of the Republican Party, but it's the party base that drove them out. Donald Trump was the focus and the standard bearer, but the Republican Party base is sick and tired of voting for candidates who do nothing about their issues. Also, if Trump does manage to move the Republican Party to a more worker-friendly stance, he may be able to pull union workers away from the Democrats. And there are a lot more union workers than there are country club millionaires.

  2. Peter, you neglected the effect if Idjit Lindsay Graham's idjit federal abortion bill. The bill, introduced on the eve of the election rallied the baby-killers against Republicans. Gen Z voted in record numbers, and the broke HARD for Democrats. Also, Independents have had FOUR years of buyers' remorse. Four years of Democrats running the country into the ground, with little Republican opposition. Four years of the border sh¡tshow. Even blue city mayors are getting sick of FJB's border non-policy. And the polls' breakdown of Independents show them breaking FOR Trump. Battleground state polls are breaking for Trump. He currently leads in five of the six battleground states he lost. Democrats are panicking, with good reason.
