@robertcrawford718 Good luck to China enforcing those rights. China has not projected naval power beyond the First Island Chain, since Zheng He. It is China's fatal strategic vulnerability.

@johnsmith7345 If you're referring to my comment about immigrants in Europe, both. The Brits are the only ones even trying for legal equality for their immigrants. Culturally, much of the migrant population is Muslim, despises the "infidels", and doesn't WANT to assimilate.

@michaelboano7183 For better or worse, America inherited the role of "world policeman" after WWII. The only other country remotely of assuming that role was the Soviet Union, and NOBODY wanted Stalin running the world. Hell, the Russians were glad to be rid of him when the old baschard died. America beat back German Imperialism (WWI), Nazism and Japanese Imperialism (WWII), Global Communism (Cold War) and has taken the lead in containing Islamist terrorism. Don't you think America deserves a LITTLE credit for these achievements? What has Russia done for the world, other than invade, occupy, and tyrannize its neighbors? What has China done for the world, other than sell cheap electronics and commit genocides? Proud (you'd probably say arrogant) American.

@ddoppster Actually, MAGA types are deeply disturbed by certain trends in America. Hence the slogan, "Make America Great AGAIN". Among those trends are the erasure of America's borders, the decline of the American educational system, which spends more time indoctrinating and sexually grooming students than educating them, and the Democratic Party's abandonment of America's working class, in favor of Identity Politics.

@johnsmith7345 Yes, he was describing American problems. And as long as the rest of the (free) world sits on it's collective arses, Americans can't count on anyone else to help us solve our problems. Frankly, Americans are getting tired of being the "world's policeman". You want to be rid of us? You just may get your wish, and sooner than you expect. I think that once Ukraine is settled, America will tell the world to sod off. There's a sizable percentage of Americans willing to dump Ukraine, now.

@therearenoshortcuts9868 First of all, China is under sanctions prohibiting them from buying first-rate chip fabricating equipment. The chips China makes are the sort that lets your blender play "Margaritaville" when the drink is done. Not gonna build "high-AI robots" with those. Secondly, if China COULD buy high-end chip fabricators, they couldn't keep them running. China depends on foreign technical experts to keep their third-rate chip making equipment running. Third, that sort of "high-AI robot" doesn't exist, yet, so there's no one for China to steal the plans from.

@COOLGUYWOW1000 The difference is that America, more than any other country in the world, attracts immigrants, who make up our labor shortages. As long as we are able to assimilate those immigrants, and inculcate them with American cultural values, it's all good. Historically, America is one batch of immigrants after another. Irish, German, Italian, Mexican, Honduran, it's all good. America's only problem with immigration is that there is so much of it, that it drives down wages. Russia and China, OTOH, attract virtually no immigrants. That is in part because Han Chinese and Ethnic Russians are so bigoted that NOBODY wants to be ruled by them. Certainly not in a dictatorship run by them. Emigrating to Russia or China is like a black person emigrating to the Jim Crow South. It's just beyond stupid.
