In reality, that actually applies to everyone. But there is a distinction you miss that refutes your reductive distortion -- you aren't "pure" either: I'm certain there are secrets about yourself that you keep to yourself by means of lying by omission. And if you deny that you are lying by commission. The percentage of actual corruption -- which is what you're actually getting at, but without any specific evidence -- is roughly the same as it is in the electorate. So you are dishonestly projecting your dishonesty onto politicians, which is a mindless cliche. And that is irresponsible for another reason: you make of yourself a faction who votes only for your chosen corruption. Or worse, you maintain your "purity" by not voting at all, and thus abandon your responsibility as a citizen in a democracy to actively participate in democracy, which is the means by which the democracy is preserved.

  6. Pence should strap on his prosthetic spine and testify under oath to the January 6 Committee. Or be subpoenaed. There is only one other person as material a witness: Trump. But Pence doesn't want to alienate Thrum's "base" of duped insurrectionists.
