Not all media fail to report that Trump hasn't the authority to invoke or waive executive privilege. And not all media fail to report that Bannon doesn't have executive privilege. And not all media fail to report that the decision as to whether Bannon testifies is the Committee's to make, not Bannon's.

Not all media do that. Most legitimate media report the facts: only the sitting president has the authority to invoke or waive executive privilege. And it isn't absolute: there is that crime-fraud exception.

The Committee hasn't the authority to "retract" the charges: separation of powers.

False: the Committee has the final say on that, and it hasn't yet made that decision. Recognizing that Trump -- he is paying Bannon's lawyers -- doesn't have the authority to invoke of waive executive privilege, exactly as the Trump Supreme Court has ruled. And recognizing that Bannon doesn't have the cover of executive privilege -- the DOJ said his PLOY is "irrelevant": he has been indicted for contempt of Congress, and that won't change by anything Bannon does. Bannon blew off the Committee, and that he is a known self-promoter an liar, the Committee should ignore him.
