  2. Regardless whether her psychosis is real or feigned she isn't going to get away with the crime. She is going to prison for life. It's also reported that she cut her wrists and throat, and as result of jumping out of a second floor window is now paralyzed from the waist down.

  3. This is one of the extremely rare cases in which the insanity defense will work. Those who don't understand what that means tend to oppose it -- they are vengeful people who want PUNISHMENT. A person who succeeds with an insanity defense is sentenced to a mental hospital instead of to prison, usually without a trial on the issue, and stays there until competent to stand trial. Becoming competent, and proving it, can take longer than whatever the sentence would have been; and sometimes the person never becomes competent to stand trial.
