  13.  @commonsense2680  Years ago a British social scientist studied violence in women's prisons. In male prisons the structure is hierarchical, and the violence is typically direct, one-on-one. In women's prisons the structure is horizontal, and woman "A" has another woman do her violence to another for her, so the woman behind it has "clean hands". I've seen women start issues -- then require "her" "man" to do the fighting for her while she pretends to be the victim.

  18.  @timalan5376  It WAS NOT a joke -- it was a COMPLIMENT. He simply compared her to a film character who is viewed as a POSITIVE ROLE MODEL. Some comedians "roast" celebrities -- and the celebrities know that going in. Chris Rock is one of those. And it is not something new. The role of comedy -- "sarcasm" -- through all time has been to bring the pompous down to earth. Well, Will Smith showed us all how a pompous individual can crash hard -- and the delicious irony is that he did it TO HIMSELF.

  20.  @timalan5376  Those who are bullied tend to shun violence -- because they know what it feels like. Thus they develop the intellectual and verbal skills as defense against it. You idea of "sarcasm" is exceedingly narrow. According to social satirists Art Buchwald and Irma Bombeck, the source of all humor is ANGER. Near the beginning of his career Mark Twain wrote that the source of all humor is ANGER. But near the end of his career Twain wrote that the source of all humor is PAIN. Think about that. Meanwhile stop blindly buying into the sleazy gossip "celebrity" news garbage. Chris Rock DID NOT tell a joke -- he compared Smith's wife to a FILM CHARACTER that is viewed as a "positive" "role model". He FLATTERED her. FURTHER: about a week ago Smith's wife posted a video in which she said she LOVES her "bald head," AND said that she doesn't care what anyone has to say about it.
