  4. Mark Twain compared himself to Geroge Washington: "George could not tell a lie. I can, but I won't." The moral point being that the inability to tell a lie is not a virtue. And the irony is that Washington's "I can't tell a lie" was a lie made up as a story to teach children to not lie.
