  1. "Compassionate Conservatism" was a LIE made into a slogan. "Tough Love" was also seen as "compassion" until it was shown to be control-freak bullying by authoritarians. Come on, Tim: stop pretending that Republicans were ever about service -- compare the elected Congressmen who actually served in the military, with all the Republicans who talk big about military service: 10 to 1, at the least, of those who actually served in the military were Democrats. Republicans view their only proper position as being in charge and giving orders. And behind all their bullshit and self-promotion the are wusses with limited skills -- and all of those shaped from ambition without talent.

  2. Republicans are unable to course-correct: they are monomanic pro-control anti-gov't/Founders. "Conservatism" has always been about accumulating wealth and power into as few hands as possible. See William F. Buckley and George Will as examples.
