"Justice and the Rule of Law are to be ABOVE politics." -- John Adams.

@MarthaJones-v5p John Adams wrote the Massachusetts constitution, the oldest still in force, which was the model for the US Constitution. We don't disrespect those facts to favor the corrupt.

@captainmorgan5106 Luttig is a former judge, and he is saying the same thing as John Adams. It's a good thing you're not a judge: you are law-illiterate, and denying the rule of law in the name of politics. It isn't I who is the issue: you are admitting that you don't know the difference.
2
@bigneiltoo If a case is filed in court against you and your position, and you DON'T SHOW to PRESENT A DEFENSE, then YOU LOSE. It is that simple. Study this until you understand it: "Justice and the RULE OF LAW are to be ABOVE politics." -- John Adams.

@animatedadventures7927 The Constitution EXPRESSLY PROHIBITS INSURRECTION -- "Art. I., S. 8., C. 15. CONGRES shall have the Power To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute [ENFORCE] the Laws of the Union, SUPPRESS INSURRECTIONS, and repel Invasions." "Insurrection" = "taking up arms" against the gov't. IN LAW, "arms" are not limited to "guns". The Founders charged both "Shays's" and "Whiskey" insurrectionists with TREASON, convicted them, and sentenced them to DEATH. I suggest you get an education in actual law; until then sit down and shut your law-illiterate yap.

@Kate-nr3fx3fi9o The issue is TRUMP, intellectually dishonest anti-American immoralist.

@59plexi You've got the irresponsibility covered, troll.
1
@bigneiltoo Self-evident declarations of guilt are EVIDENCE. Due process includes the opportunity for the defendant to SHOW UP IN COURT and OPPOSE the plaintiff's or prosecution's action. Don't show -- which was Trump's attitude -- CONCEDE/FORFEIT.

@davidarchibald50 John Adams was the foremost constitutionalist among the Founders. John Adams wrote the Massachusetts constitution, the oldest constitution on the planet still in force, which was the model for the US Constitution. Because YOU REFUSE -- or are too ignorant -- to distinguish between politics, and justice and rule of law, does not make JOHN ADAMS the fool.
1
@bobbitaylor-cheng6416 It has always been true that there are those who put politics above justice and rule of law -- which iss what motivated John Adams to stipulate to the fact that justice and the rule of law are to be distinguished from politics.
1
@lawrencefuentes3983 "We the people" DELEGATE our "will" and power AS rule of law, and we agree to submit to and comply with the rule of law.
1
@funkfamily4165 I have an education in law, law-illiterate name-caller? I am not the issue. But tell us: why do you defend Trump, who quotes HITLER? Are you also, like him, an anti-Semite?
1
@mephiston001 Obviously I believe the opposite of your incomprehension.
1
@EJWash57 It's always being tested. Trump wallows in and spews politics at the rule of law. That's why he keeps losing in courts of LAW.
1
@davidanderson6100 Adams made that distinction because there were people just like them at that time also.
1
@dublindog8038 The Constitution is the SUPREME Law of the Land, and its First Amendment SEPARATES "religion" from gov't, because anyone can say anything, regardless how ludicrous, and claim "God" told them to say it. You're talking anti-American nonsense.
1
@bigneiltoo A CONFESSION is EVIDENCE, not a "circular argument". Clue, law-illiterate: intent can be proven with circumstantial evidence: if a person is ON VIDEO breaking windows in the Capitol building, then climbing through the window into the building, his denial that he did that is REFUTED by the VIDEO EVIDENCE. Trump's own statements are being used against him because they are self-evident in their meanings, and he is on tape and or video making the statements. Law-illiterates such as you should sit down and shut your yaps and LISTEN AND LEARN.
1
@dublindog8038 And your views, as they differ from mine, aren't "twisted"? I have an education in law, and my focus is Constitutional law. What are YOUR qualifications? I suggest you re-read the John Adams statement until you UNDERSTAND it. One CAN apply the LAW of the case to the FACTS of the case WITHOUT intruding one's own political preferences onto any of it. But one must LEARN how to do that.
1
@dublindog8038 PAY ATTENTION to WHAT I ACTUALLY STATED: By its own express terms, the CONSTITUTION is the SUPREME Law of the Land. That means there is NO law HIGHER than the CONSTITUTION. AND: The FIRST AMENDMENT to the CONSTITUTION SEPARATES "RELIGION" FROM GOV'T. The attempt to insert one's "religion" into LAW is a VIOLATION of the FIRST AMENDMENT. It is UNCONSTITUIONAL. That which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL is ANTI-AMERICAN.
1
@dublindog8038 IN THE UNITED STATES "RELIGION" is S-E-P-A-R-A-T-E-D from gov't by the CONSTITUTION. Keep your damned "Bible" OUT of gov't; keep that CRAP to yourself -- stop trying to poison and destroy the rule of law with that seditious lunacy.

"Philip Williams Tell that to Enrique from the proud boys, the oath keepers and the other 1000 people who is in jail or waiting to stand trial". The are waiting trial in jail based on PROBABLE CAUSE -- sufficient EVIDENCE -- or were convicted AT TRIAL ON THE EVIDENCE. Trump had the opportunity to SHOW UP in Colorado and PRESENT A DEFENSE. He didn't -- so he in effect CONCEDED that the action against him was a slam dunk. Stop pretending you understand due process from your position of REJECTING the rule of law.
