"Squatting" is a result of homelessness caused by lack of affordable housing. And who opposes limits on rents, thus causing homelessness? Landlords. No one more denies the balancing of rights on which our system of laws is based than landlords. Apparently there's a "divine right" that applies exclusively to landlords: they can do as they please -- see my comment about the lawyer for the billionaire landlord who also -- the lawyer -- owns properties that are in extreme violation of state building and sanitary codes. But tenants MUST obey every cross, dot, and tittle of the law, even while landlords refuse to maintain their properties in keeping with minimal legal standards. So lets preach against and vilify those frozen out of the system -- the tenants and imaginary "squatters". Wonder who is behind the extreme increase in Florida property taxes? It's those who can pay lobbyists to lobby the legislature for those laws. And that isn't tenants and or "squatters". The bottom line is this, Ms. Fact-Free: He talks about "stories" and "theys" but never actually SUBSTANTIATES ANY of it with names, address, court case citations. It's oh so easy to be a bigot by running a bunch of UNSUBSTANTIATED "stories" and "theys" by, without the least sense of CONSCIENCE -- ETHICS -- about passing along BASELESS MISINFORMATION. He must be a landlord: all fault is always on the tenant. Landlords are like M.D.s -- always right, never wrong, always being sued for "no reason". I have an education in law -- including landlord-tenant. I've seen it regularly in courts: landlords with lawyers against tenants too poor to afford lawyers. And humans being human, not all landlords can be trusted. And landlords have the advantage: they can afford lawyers; most tenants cannot. Until you know the REALITIES of landlord-tenant relationships -- and landlord-tenant law -- you'll be a sucker for landlord-generated propaganda about how they are -- typical of right-wing greed-heads -- invariably and without exception "victims". Currently there is a case in Nantucket, Massachusetts, of a right-wing billionaire suing a re-opening restaurant in effort to put it out of business. He flew in from Palm Springs, Florida, where he lives, to file suit -- then flew back to Palm Springs, Florida. He is a landlord. And he regularly funds extremist right-wing Republicans including the brain-damaged Hershel Walker -- any Republican, regardless how stupid or incompetent or corrupt -- the corruption is seen as a plus -- is preferable to an honest politician. It's all about money and power. Landlords are always telling negative stories about tenants. Often about tenants about whom they know nothing and with whom have no experience. They have their stereotypes of tenants because they are BIGOTS. But we're to believe that landlords don't know how to "game the system"!? Look at Trump, jackass: a third-generation New York con-man and career criminal -- and LANDLORD.
