Trump isn't looking for "a way out". He is looking to help Putin -- to impose a way out for Putin -- who is losing the war, and without Putin surrendering the Ukrainian territories he illegally occupies.

Zelenskyy was blindsided. And he didn't raise his voice or lower himself to reciprocate the abuse. And then Vance accused him of "litigating" the issue publicly, whereas it was Trump who deliberately made it public so he could demonstrate his "tough guy" act.

@RonanKieran The facts: Putin is losing the war, and Trump is trying to rescue him from the disaster by IMPOSING a "peace" on the victim, Ukraine, so Putin can (temporarily) "withdraw" without surrendering the Ukraine territories he illegally occupies. Zelenskyy went further than an actual ally would require by agreeing to the deal on Ukraine natural resources. In exchange he wanted US security support and protection -- which Trump REFUSED. So Trump had to have a pretext for abrogating the deal by "whining" that Zelenskyy hurt his feelings. TRUMP was abrogating the deal, exactly as Putin has repeatedly done to Ukraine.

Russia has lost more than 800,000 troops to Ukraine's 10s of thousands. And Ukraine invented a long distance drone it is using to devastate Russia's oil infrastructure -- oil being Russia's primary source of income. Trump is attempting to rescue Putin from the disaster by IMPOSING a "peace" on the victim, Ukraine, without Putin having to surrender the Ukrainian territories he illegally occupies. The deal between Trump and Zelenskyy was totally one-sided: US would benefit with the Ukrainian minerals. But in exchange Zelensky was asking for US security support and protection -- which Trump REFUSED, which would have benefited Putin. The deal blew up because Zelensky wouldn't budge on the point -- so the US doesn't get the minerals. Trump couldn't care less about people being killed -- he also gave Netanyahu the green light to continue his genocide, his ethnic cleansing, in Gaza.
