That is nonsense. And she is learning that now.,

@yvettecarpenter2284 The ban is a weapon formed against her and is working. So she is wrong. Then again, she is young with an ego pumped up by flattery. She is over her skies.

@artlesscalamity Personal attack noted. "You're cheering for censorship and tyranny, but it never wins." The first concept is false. In fact I adhere to fact and law. That is why I point to falsehoods when young people, full of themselves, confidently assert falsehoods that are proven false by what is happening directly in front of their faces and to them. The second concept is also false: If "censorship and tyranny" "never wins [sic], then what explains the fact that they exist. For how long has Putin, as example, been successful in imposing censorship and tyranny? I love and live by ideals. But I don't mistake them for reality. The very young Amanda Gorman has long had multiple supports and connections -- that is why she got to read a naive poem at the inauguration. One doesn't manage that if one doesn't have powerful connections. But that she is being "banned" (first I've heard of it. and I'm a published poet) proves that that weapon "formed against" her is certainly "prosper[ing]". Contest it all you will -- if it didn't exist one would not have it to contest against. I like poetry that is logical and consistent, not simply unusual expression that calls attention to itself but is ultimately false. Is she being "banned"? Then that weapon is certainly "prospering" -- a word that "looks nice" but really doesn't fit.

Other poets don't get any airtime. Some are connected and privileged, most are not.
