And replace it with direct democracy? The January 6th insurrection was direct democracy. See how that works without CHECKS against factions comprised of fools? How about researching WHY the Founders established the Electoral College. NO: it was not about protecting slavery. Neither was the Second Amendment.

@neveklund3267 The Electoral College is intended to be a check AGAINST excessive democracy -- i.e., a dumbed-down electorate voting for demagogues. What alarms is that the response to right-wing attacks on the Constitution is a dumbed-down "leftish" faction attacking the Constitution without any grounding in the original reason for that the faction is attacking. Someone games the system; but instead of going after them for gaming the system, the reaction is to attempt to game the system.
