  1. "Pride" -- and ego trip -- is earned only by the person who works for it. It is a fantasy, a kind of theft, that one can be "proud" of others' achievements to which you contributed nothing.

  2. So the Irish were allegedly slaves therefore no big deal that POC were slaves. Learn the actual history: In Massachusetts-Bay Colony only one "religion" was allowed. One had to adhere to that "religion" in order to hold public office. In order to run for office one had to own land. In order to own land one had to adhere to that one "religion". Especially subject to persecution were Quakers, [Ana]Baptists, and "Papists" (Catholics). Those with any "wrong" 'religion" were banished from the colony, subject to death if they returned -- see Quaker Mary Dyer. But the slaves were "coloreds,' which included indigenous "Americans". All these efforts to minimize slavery of POC are racist at core -- we're supposed to feel sorry for poor put-upon white people, though they had the advantage over slaves of being white. Listen to Bob Dylan's "Pawn in Their Game" -- he does not excuse the "pawn".

  3.  @nytn  The entire point of claiming whites were slaves is to change the subject by claiming to be victims instead of being the slave owners. It is an effort to perpetuate the same racist -- white supremacist -- excuses for slavery as in the first instance. It is old lies in fake-new wrappings.
