The Constitution makes clear that the gov't of, by, and for "We the people" is intended to meet the needs of "We the people" as determined. through democratic election of representatives, by "We the people". The reactionaries against the Constitution lie that that process -- "we the people" pay taxes that come back as services meeting "We the people's" needs -- is "socialism". It isn't laziness, dependency, or "socialism": it is "We the people" paying our own way.
