"Take our country back" FROM WHAT?

Gun control is not "anti-gun" -- it is pro-public health and safety.

@gyrovids9462 Thank you -- I'll be using that!

@HoneysDad2024 The father has "rights" somehow equal to the dangers of pregnancy to the woman!? This isn't about "feelings": it is about medical science. The issue is not abortion; the issue is problem pregnancies, some of which can only be resolved by means of the medical procedure abortion. A guy in Texas just got a slap on the wrist for trying to induce an abortion in his wife without her knowledge. So the issue isn't abortion; the issue is about men regaining control over the lives of women. In contrast, the Constitution guarantees equality before the law for EVERYONE, without regard to sex or gender. Don't like the law? -- then find and move to a country where men get to be supremacist bullies freely imposing their will on women.

A war within a nation between factions of the same nation is a civil war. A war between different nations is not a civil war.

@ConsistentlyInconsistent Agreed, but with one exception: EVERY country tells itself that it's the greatest on the planet. Behind that assurance is insecurity about that claim.
3
That's because they are more about provocation than actually thinking about what civil war would mean. Somehow they don't get that they too would be adversely impacted.

What?

@danielplainview5085 The pro-Hitler faction in the US founded the "America First" organization. History proves that they were wrong then and they are wrong now.

@beadsy-dl5up The king of England gave the lands to colonize to the various groups of colonists. The problem is that the king didn't own the lands he gave them. In both English and US law that is STEALING. The colonists were, under English and US law, illegal immigrants. And they and their progeny enslaved brown people, and as they expanded their white supremacism committed genocide to clear the land for themselves.

@speedy7040 In view of the fact that they only say "take it back," it can't be determined if they mean "what" or "whom". But as that they reject democracy and the rule of law, it isn't from "whom".
1
@eloscuro704 Huh? If these fools were concerned with the Golden Rule, they wouldn't fall for Trump's promise to exterminate all who believe differently than he/they.

@davidminer84 You don't know anything about Marxism. And you obviously don't know anything about the 14th Amendment and the Civil Rights laws implementing that Amendment. You know who HITLER hated? Communists, Socialists, "Marxists," and Liberals. But the US's Founders were LIBERALS, which is why we have the First Amendment.

@Aconitum_napellus If you are obsessed with guns, you will abstract and distort in effort to defend your obsession. The Founders of the American colonies engaged in every form of gun control including confiscation and prohibition. That was in response to crackpots, loons, and other malcontents engaging in gun violence. the fantasy that lack of registration and licensing -- which minimally exists in the US -- would reduce gun violence makes no sense: the mass murders are being committed by lawful gun owners using legal guns. The parents who were convicted because their sun killed people in school BOUGHT the gun for him -- he was underage -- even though they knew he was having homicidal fantasies. He wasn't licensed and his gun not registered to him but that didn't stop him from committing mass murder. The mass shooting in Maine was by a military reservist who was well known both to be having mental health issues and having an arsenal of weapons -- but no one intervened by at least confiscating his guns. Then a gun-nut responds after the fact with the nonsense that "guns" are being blamed. It is a simple and obvious fact that if he didn't have any guns he couldn't have committed the mass murder with guns. None of the pro-gun rationalizations make sense, let alone reflect any degree of rationality. And it is the itching-to-be-violent who always jabber about "revolution". Even with guns you wouldn't have a chance; better you grow up and learn how the system works and use the existing means to change the situation.

@Aconitum_napellus The gun violence is generated by those who oppose gun control -- which has existed as long as there have been guns -- and whine about it based on unadulterated IGNORANCE, and refusal to learn. The FIRST OBLIGATION is gov't/rule of law is to protect public health and safety. That's why we have laws, and prisons for those who refuse to be civilized.

@odinson6348 The point, Captain Oblivious, is that these MAGA dunces don't know that. The like the "idea" of civil war because they have no clue what it is.

@davidminer84 The wealthy industrialists didn't take to Hitler at first -- they thought him inconsequential. But when he told them that the alternative was the "THREAT" of the Communists, they supported him. And we know what happened -- even if you want to deny it. Clue: there are several videos of a tour of the US section of the D-Day cemetery at Normandy. Watch it -- that is the cemetery that Trump refused to visit because of a very light sprinkle because he didn't want his hair messed up. He had already said that soldiers who defend the country are "suckers" and "losers". Look at his grandfather: he came to the US from Germany in order to avoid military service in WW I. After that war he went back to Germany -- and was deported back to the United States for having avoided military service. Those are the "genes" of your macho manly-man tough guy and draft dodger Trump.

@davidminer84 Let us know when you actually know what "Marxism" is -- aside from the fact that Marx was a Jew.
