No, it is a criminal case based upon evidence and law. That Trump and Barr view everything as 'politics" in effort to avoid the law does not withstand critical scrutiny: "Justice and the Rule of Law are to be ABOVE politics." -- John Adams. Barr intervened to exclude Trump from the prosecution of Cohen in the same basic case. If it were a "political" trial, Cohen wouldn't have been convicted and imprisoned. And it was the Bureau of Prisons, under the DOJ, that jailed him in effort to keep him silenced when it came to publishing his book on the issue.

Only fools, criminals, and anti-Americans sympathize with Trump.

Nixon used the CIA to block the FBI from investigating the "Watergate" burglary, and hush money payments. So Nixon engaged in official acts in ways that were criminal. The US Supreme Court is looking for way to protect Trump from the consequences of his criminality because he is carrying water for their extremist "conservative" agenda.

Notice all the rapid eye-blinking when he is being dishonest. He is that obvious.

Trump has never recognized any limits on his actions. The reason certain efforts weren't implemented when he was in the White House was because those around him refused to do as he was ordering.

Republicans are all about bombs -- "diplomacy" is "weakness". "Jaw, Jaw is better than war, war." -- Winston Churchill.

The "damage" Barr is talking about is the Democratic POLICIES of meeting the needs of "We the people". Republicans OPPOSE gov't being of, for, and by the people -- existing to serve "We the people," not instead to impoverish us. Ultimately, the Federal gov't has the responsibility to protect "We the people" from violations of civil rights by state gov'ts. Instead Republicans elevate "states' rights" ABOVE the Constitutional supremacy of FEDERAL law. Republicans oppose the so-called "administrative state" because the Executive branch agencies -- "bureaucrats" -- are the means by which the gov't implements the means to meet the needs of "We the people". The Founders never used the pejorative "Big Gov't"; in fact, just the opposite: they intended that the Federal "head" be powerful. Republicans don't want the gov't to serve "We the people"; except to give tax breaks to those who don't need them, so they can use their money as "freedom of speech" in politics.

Electoral slates are chosen by the STATES -- where the president has no jurisdiction. So it is not in any way within a president's "official duties" as chief of law enforcement.
