FOURTH time in a row.

This is apparently only his second trial as defense lawyer. And he LOST the case primarily because he presented the "defense" Trump DEMANDED he present. This is the fourth time in a row that Trump has LOST because his lawyers caved in to his self-destruction. So Trump's lawyers have had their asses handed to them BY THEIR CLIENT. As a lawyer for 38 years you well know that the legal profession -- let's hope it's a temporary lapse (I don't actually believe it is temporary) -- competes not only on law and evidentiary grounds but also by means of unethical use of ethics. Blanche knew it is prohibited to suggest that the jury would be responsible for putting Trump in jail -- he did it anyway. That's why the profession has a terrible reputation. That and the monomanic focus on greed.

@VictorMorales-rc2fq Uh -- no: it doesn't matter in what area of law a lawyer's practice: the verdict is in but the trial is not complete -- there are motions, negotiations, before sentencing that affect sentencing. If Blanche makes public statements that can be construed as commitments, then he is at very least complicating things for himself. What he and his client say publicly can be used in court AGAINST them. It isn't already bad enough that he presented the "defense" as TRUMP DEMANDED, and as result he TOTALLY LOST?

Well, yeah -- why should he pay the guy for LOSING the case by having substituted Trump's self-destructive strategy for sound LEGAL reasoning?
1
@SEEshadow He's whining because he LOST. And he LOST because (1) there was no defense available, and (2) he let his client tell him how to "argue" the case. Trump is self-destructive -- he "knows" better than any actual lawyer, demands that they present his defenses as HE demands, and when they do he LOSES. And he REFUSES TO LEARN from the losses.

"Common sense is much too common." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson. "Common sense is none too common." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson. The invocation of "common sense" is a phony effort to aggrandize one's individual view by implying that it has broad support from people who can't be proven to exist. And, of course, those who can't be proven to exist just happen to agree 100 per cent with the view of the individual who is invoking "common sense". Stop promoting delusions of grandeur.

@jodydavis1149 If you don't know where the allegedly "over 85,000 missing children" are, then you don't know that they ever existed. And that is typical of MAGA: make up shit without regard for EVIDENCE for the made-up shit. But let's not talk about the DOCUMENTED separation of infants and toddlers from their parents by the Trump criminal enterprise and terrorist organization.
1
The defense didn't have a defense except to ignore all the DOCUMENTARY evidence, and Pecker and Hope Hicks testimonies, and focus exclusively on Cohen. That was Trump's call -- and Blanche's reputation will be damaged for capitulating to Trump's self-destruction. This is the FOURTH major trial in a row that Trump has LOST because his lawyers caved in and presented the "defenses" that Trump DEMANDED they present. Keep it up, Donnie -- you're batting 100 percent as #1 WINNER at LOSING.
1
He had to defend Trump against impossible odds, and by means of the self-destructive strategy Trump DEMANDED he use. He's embarrassed -- he got his ass handed to him BY HIS CLIENT.
1
@epsomsaltdude No -- but there are strategic and ethical reasons NOT to talk to the media during an ONGOING legal process. What has he publicly said that can be construed as a COMMITMENT that can be used against him during ongoing negotiations with the court and opposing counsel? As a lawyer he should KNOW that. And look at Trump -- REFUSES to testify under oath, then bloviates publicly ATTACKING and VIOLATING the gag order, and says things that can be used against him IN COURT.

@jamesh.5765 And got his ass whipped and his reputation shredded by his client.
