  2.  @tomgeorge9025  Trump contributed to BOTH Democrats and Republicans, and always from a perspective of self-interest: what was in it for him. And certainly he's a RINO. That's why the actual Republicans were so strongly opposed to him during the 2016 campaign. And now, though they won't admit it publicly, those who oppose him recognize that he has never actually been a Republican. At the same time, even though most loathe him, he was useful to their goals, such as capturing the Supreme Court. But they aren't about to abandon him because that would expose their opportunism. Which opportunism includes pandering to his MAGA "base".
