@Mark-db8id Pelosi's communications are IRRELEVANT to the issue, moron: the authority over deployment of the National Guard is in the Executive branch, under the Dept, of Defense, not under the Congress.
The Constitution includes four Militia Clauses, which include the Second Amendment, which is no more or less than that. The first is this:
"Art. I., S. 8., C. 15. The Congress shall have Power To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute [ENFORCE] the Laws of the Union, [and] SUPPRESS INSURRECTIONS."
BASIC CIVICS:
The Congress "provides for" by MAKING LAWS. The EXECUTIVE branch has the responsibility to ENFORCE the laws.
In other words, the Founders SEPARATED the control of the military, and the funding and regulating of it. The Executive branch controls the military; the Congress establishes the funding and regulation of it.
The delay in the deployment of the National Guard on January 6 is on the Dept. of Defense, which is in the EXECUTIVE branch, and under the president as Commander-in-Chief.
That delay was DIRECTLY the responsibility of TRUMP.
