The defendant is owed due process, which is premised upon PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENCE. 3. The burden of proof is on the prosecution. 4. AT TRIAL the prosecution presents the EVIDENCE, and the jury EVALUATES the evidence. 5. The EVIDENCE is sufficient, and the jury unbiased, the find the defendant guilty. Instead of being an asshole attacking the prosecution as making shit up -- you haven't seen the EVIDDENCE yet, and you're already screaming NONESNSE -- wait for the TRIAL at which the EVIDENCE will be presented. LISTEN to those who KNOW NEW YORK LAW -- the NEW YORK STATE LAW allows EXACTLY what the prosecution is doing re. ENHANCING the misdemeanor to a felony because the misdemeanor crime was used to cover up another crime. One of the possible crimes: violation of STATE campaign laws. Another: TAX EVASION.

@kkt2004 The charge isn't "professional misconduct". And if one commits a crime in their capacity as a "professional" they still committed the crime. @MrDavidBFoster John Adams MEANT it. His cousin Sam Adams was the propagandist. John Adams hated the British. But he defended the British troops involved in the "Boston Massacre" (which was NOT a "massacre") because he believed that a person charged with a serious crime should not want for a competent defense. As a lawyer he LOST a lot of business because of that ethical stand. John Adams was the ONLY Founder who was unequivocally opposed to slavery. Your idea that "politician" = "evil," with no exceptions, is stupid extremism based on an ignorant sense of moral superiority.
