Yes. But "the siren song" you mention has been pulling people away from that which is good for a long time. I don't generally quote the Bible, but "love of money is the root of all evil" is not that far off the mark.

Wonderfully explained, a treat for my inner engineer. But designing and building music instruments as I do is a kind of engineering too.
2
Very nicely explained and demonstrated. Thanks.

They have to be.
1
What's the point? You'd just say it's fake anyway.
1
The sky is blue because blue light is scattered more by the atmosphere than other colors, because of its shorter wavelength. Are you sorry you asked?
1
@allvill4832 No, the firmament is actually green, but it looks blue because the Devil is warping our thoughts. See, I can make stuff up too.
1
The laser was invented in 1960.
1
So the firmament is 250,000 miles away? Why is it that "things" (radar, for instance) not aimed at the Moon but at, say, Venus, come up with completely different distances? Logic required here.
1
@mickronson7578 The distance to the Moon has been ascertained for many years now, first by radar and now by laser. Do you have some Nobel Prize winning refutation of modern physics that shows why we should doubt these figures?
1
Kit Canyon The short attention span of flat Earthers probably also accounts for the fact that none of them have won the Nobel Prize yet. Or maybe it's because the Nobel Prize Commission is controlled by Reptilians.
1
We can't see jeeps light years away.
1
@AnOfficialYouTubeProfile I've seen you around. Shilling for reality again, eh? I just hope that reality has something to offer you.
1
Kit Canyon Sorry, Kit, I was joking again. I keep forgetting it's next to impossible to satirize conspiracy theorists and not run the risk of being taken for one.
1
He hit that life saver on the edge.
1
How do you know it's the cello and not Bach? Fascinating stuff, great work. Cheers from cello- and Bach-rich Vienna, Scott
1
@AnOfficialYouTubeProfile You have probably also noticed that most conspiracy theorists are dualists, in the sense that they don't understand that there is more to the world than is/is not. The fact that a few molecules per cubic meter of the Earth's atmosphere is blown to the Moon by solar wind means that the Moon's atmosphere is just like the Earth's. Either/or. Probably a result of watching too many sitcoms.
1
@Miron Samoilov You said it.
1
Kit Canyon I've seen cartoons of the dome and the ice wall. Don't they count?
1
The moon has gravity.
1
How cool is that.
1
Have you ever wondered why your name is griffin? A griffin is a kind of demon. Google it.
1
Fake News? That's what Trump says all the time. Works for him too. For the moment.
1
Ultracool.
1
Mindboggling. Great explanation, great visualization. Kudos.
1
@m1ckyg21 Conspiracy theorists are not noted for being overly concerned about logical coherence.
1
@Jan_Strzelecki But can you prove the US sent men to the Moon and not androids?
1
The Devil made you say that. :)
1
@goat5815 The Devil is also a well-known liar.
1
Does God pay you thousands of dollars to shill for Him?
1
Except that you can tell when you've hit the reflectors, because the signal is much stronger than when you are not on them.
1
@AnOfficialYouTubeProfile Yep. Depressing, isn't it?
1
@RasCricketSmallAxe As the laser was invented in 1960, that seems unlikely.
1
Ultra cool.
1
You'd just say that's fake too, so why bother?
1
@jayh9529 What's been found out? I saw the live broadcasts in 1969. Unfakeable. We landed on the Moon.
1
That's why they didn't leave a simple flat mirror on the Moon, but rather a corner reflector, which reflects light straight back no matter what the angle of incidence.
1
Television in every home ha ha
1
@Nofold3 Meh. So where's your conspiracy border: Earth flat, space doesn't exist, or space exists, but we've never been there because reasons?
1
@Nofold3 So? Why should they?
1
@Nofold3 Why? What makes you think that astronauts "should" take 360 degree pans?
1
@Nofold3 I don't watch tv, I haven't watched for decades.
1
@Nofold3 Have a good one man
1
The reflectors don't have to reflect all the light back, just enough to be detected.
1
You need a reflector to get back a detectable signal if you don't have a very powerful laser, because the rough surface of the Moon scatters most of the light.
1
@MrBarrynicholas I understood the whole thing, and you are right. But I am right too. And we know the reflectors are there because the return signal is much stronger when aimed at them, not just at anywhere on the Moon.
1
Yep. And you're a hologram too. How does it feel?
1
@AnOfficialYouTubeProfile Thanks for the correction. :)
1
No they didn't.
