  12. These are of course legitimate concerns, and Democrats are certainly responsible for lots of wishful thinking and turning away from the facts. But the Americans who died and are still dying from Covid would still die regardless of whether its origin is natural or not. And the responsibility for many of their deaths can be fairly pinned on Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans, who denied and stalled responding at the beginning, when it was most important.
