  1. Bowmaker for more than fifty years here. Video is interesting and well done, but I must disagree with what you say about the price of very expensive bows. A bow that sells for $690,000 is only "worth" that much for the same reason a Stradivari violin is "worth" $10,000,000: it's an investment. Bows do not improve with age after they are played in. There are many modern bowmakers who can make bows as good as Tourte or anyone else. But they can't get the prices historical bows get, because they are not yet investments.
