  1. Living in a city with 30,000 Ukrainian refugees, and only two countries away, the question of US support for the Ukraine is of more than academic interest.   9.  @MarcoSchaper-n4z  Unfortunately, as I'm sure you know, the AfD doubled their previous share to 20%. Not perhaps as bad as in the US under Trump, but bad enough. And here in Austria, we have enough problems with the FPÖ.

  18. I just hope that Trump is not in jail by 2024. That's because, looking at Realpolitik, any younger Republican would have a chance against Biden, but Trump won't. Since the Democrats can't seem to look past Biden, it's all to the good of humanity that the Republicans can't look past Trump. Why can't we do better than this?

  28. As much as I've been hoping to see Trump behind bars for the last six years, I think I'd rather wait until after 2024, as a Realpolitik position. If Trump is still around to divide Republicans, then the chances of a Democratic victory in 2024 might be greater.

  29. Living in Europe, it's hard not to see the parallels here. East European academics are also fleeing to the West. My wife and I gave a workshop in Romania a couple of years ago for architecture students. Every one of them was planning to leave as soon as they graduated.
