  2.  @lambynighttrain  True, but there are some jobs that have had to cut their wages, TV news and news journalism (my degree, big mistake) are now more competitive but cut their salaries during the recession and never raised them afterwards.

  4.  @Nikki-ks6wi  Many people could either run or become managers of stores. There was a lot of wealth in retail. But then came Walmart.

  6. Ironically minimum wage hasn't risen but inflation has so you would have had a harder time making it on minimum wage if you were born in the 80's and 90's.

  11. Understand that the wages have not increased in any field but inflation and the price to buy things cost more every year.
