@PRINT Excellent NI episode (one was a bit hesitant, given the 'heavy' title)! ... The need for Democracy is much deeper than prosperity or sorting out socio-philosophical issues. Democracy is foundational for practically covenanting human equality. No other system truly can.

@firetree2007 Not surprised that you quote Engels, however, I will respond to the argument (or lack of it) in the proffered idea --> Engel's merely concludes, building upon Marx's observations (presumptous to call it a 'law', one might surmise), that the forms of state institutions, legal conceptions etc follow from the stated Progression of Man (my capitalization)! How You (i.e. Red Fire Tree(?)) conclude that Democracy can not be the fundamental underlying state governance system, without supplying appropriate true premises, is a bit troubling. Dare I say your own internalized belief system is possibly interfering with your logical judgement?
