But there is no point in crying over spilt milk, our politicians must create enduring economy boosting structures to systematically solve the poverty problem (not depend primarirly on doles to maintain as some governments have done in the past have done.)

Another reason what might be happening: We are saving more babies from dying now than ever in the last 20 years therefore increasing the absolute number of babies in the wasting & stunting numbers but system lags in scaling up to support the increased number of babies. Separately, we definately need to focus more on quality of nourishment items provided, via a fresh items PDS type system and targeted DBT or credits via recently launched e-RUPI (for e.g.)

  3. Well you can thank Vandana Shiva for some of it... Some of these "well-meaning" fat-cat activists blocked GMO Golden Rice varieties that are way more nutritious (Vit A) than common Indian rice cultivars. Read a NewYorker article called "Seeds of Doubt" from Aug 2014 to understand this better... (Oh and btw, if you look at Ms. Shiva, you will be rest assured that Wasting has clearly not been a problem for her. This may sound like an Ad Hominem remark, it is. There is a point to be made here about a certian class of career activists.)
