  1. "catharsis is not the same thing as happiness" That line cuts me deeply. I have just gone through a personal crisis and finally understood what it actually feels like to write because you need to put a visual to what you're seeing, and I couldn't understand why writing out that horrible story didn't make me feel good, despite it making me feel better. I think that single line explains it... thank you for being the gift to the world that you are red.

  4. Blue's commentary on spiderman 2 is actually making me think that the point of that movie is to actually question the "with great power comes great responsibility" line. The movie essentially poses the question "so if you have no power,. do you have no responsibility? Can you just leave people to die?" and the first tentative answer from peter is "no", when he saves as many people as he can from a burning building. With greater power he could have done more, but the responsibility hasn't gone away and he feels that. Then when MJ gets captured, he really feels and commits to the fact that no, its not the great power that brings great responsibility, we all have great responsibilities, its just that a greater power makes those responsibilities more apparent.

  5. The first few seasons of doctor who have horror like nothing else. empty child, despite being an episode where nobody actually dies (ignoring world war 2 and all), is definitely up there as scariest for me. I can't imagine watching it as a kid. Blink also did numbers on me

  6.  @tendigitnumber  Less famous, but torchwood does it really well up until the fourth (and final) season, which is still greatand you should totally watch it. some spoilers ahead: It's a Doctor Who spin off series, and if you've watched the first few seasons, you know that Jack harkness is unable to die. but in Torchwood is at first, kind of an open secret, but they get over it quickly and Jack uses death as a good way to stop suspicions quite a few times. *heavy spolers* In the fourth season, the unthinkable happens: Jack can die again (we think, everyone is too scared to test). Not just that, humans can't die anymore. basically, mortallity is fixed, no one knows why and they try to revert it back, with actual stakes since the one guy who forgot how to fear for his safety is now the only one who can die.
