We fall prey to people earning millions per year spending money to convince people earning $50k per year that the people earning $10k are the problem. "I shouldn't have to pay $150 for that poor person to get a handout!"... Even if $150 is a much better price than $450 is the attitude of greed in action.

WHILE HAVING ALREADY PAID THE INSURANCE COMPANY....for NOTHING.

  10. That means they either overcharged massively on premiums, denied many legitimate healthcare cost claims (THAT PEOPLE PAID PREMIUMS FOR!), or BOTH. Privatized healthcare, Americans' health AS A FOR PROFIT BUSINESS is a failed experiment. We pay the most for healthcare, we have insurance automatically deny claims (which causes conditions to worsen, become more expensive and debilitating or even deadly), and we rank 49th in global life expectancy (and we're getting WORSE every year). The healthcare companies, for profit hospitals, insurance companies, CEOs, and shareholders are stealing life from people to make profit.

  12. Absolutely the only people who are concerned about "justice" in the United Healthcare CEO case are the law enforcement agencies and the wealthy people and corporations they serve. Popular vote would probably make legal CEO elimination a law. They, the wealthy, are simply TOO greedy. Too much money is at the top, governance "by the people" has been replaced with governance by the corporations and the wealthy executives and shareholders who own the politicians. These people, as they drive the wealth gap ever wider, are driving America towards a French Revolution. No average citizen who has to work to barely make ends meet is going to feel bad about bad things happening to the people who got ahead and stayed ahead by stepping on the backs of the working class (working class being anyone who actually has to go to work, white collar included).

  15. This is actually part of the problem. Universal healthcare is regarded as "something for the poor". Poor people don't have nice stuff is the logic the working person uses to decide universal healthcare must be bad. Besides our own greed and not wanting to have a system for everyone that's borne of "something for the poor", it's part of the misinformation and propaganda campaign waged by the wealthy on people who actually have to go to work for a living. The people earning $millions per year spend their money convincing people earning $50k per year that the people earning $10k per year are the real problem. So, universal healthcare, what those poor people have, is bad. And the wealth gap between wealthy and working people (including white collar and professionals who have to go to work) continues to grow.

  17. 28:23 taxes wouldn't even need to be raised for universal healthcare if the insurance companies were cut out. Just the ONE company, United Healthcare, earned a NET profit of 22 BILLION. Parent Company, United Health Group had revenues of 320 BILLION dollars in 2023. That's ONE insurance company. Then, most hospitals are ALSO for profit. Take all the revenue insurance companies and hospitals are generating and that would pay for universal healthcare.
