  1. Mask helps prevent the wearer from spreading it. Wearing a mask won't help you avoid catching it. The virus is too small and can both pass through the mask and around the edges that are not sealed against your face. If everyone wore a mask, it would help prevent the spread. But, as Americans, we like to do what helps us, not what helps others. So, no mask...I guess.

The captain valued the safety, well being, and lives of his sailors more than he valued his billet (and possibly career). That Captain made a command decision to use extraordinary means to solve the problem. That's what real leaders do. After that man walked down that gang plank, you won't find a single person aboard that carrier who will talk bad about him. They know he did what he did to keep the entire ship from falling ill with Covid19. You simply can't quarantine, let alone maintain 6 ft distance on a warship. He had a problem that needed handled now. He got it handled...now.

  7.  @jonnip7225  the scary thing is that the current POTUS could've deliberately ordered secret service to put a "bad" team (people who had other performance, discipline, or such issues) on Trump and if something happened to Trump and it was determined that part of the fault was on POTUS for assigning the bad team, he'd be immune from prosecution because, ironically, of a recent SCOTUS decision that Trump fans are happy about because they don't understand the wider implications of the horrible ruling.

  10. Lol. Like the cruise ship. Have a tester catch it. Then send that tester to interact with hundreds or thousands of people over 2 weeks before the tester shows symptoms. Scared people not smart people.
