  1. Unfortunately, logic doesn't change minds. It's human nature to want to be not wrong more than they want to be correct. So, once people pick a side, they are invested emotionally in that choice not being wrong. It's emotional not logical.

  2. Trump also said he was going to renegotiate or leave NAFTA, a trade treaty that is great for Canada and, especially, Mexico, but which largely screws America and Americans. For all his bluster about the wall and border, every day hundreds of Mexican trucks, with Mexican drivers roll across the US border and they drive as far as Canada and then return to Mexico. Each of those Mexican trucks is 1 less American job in the truck plus lost jobs in border transload facilities (office staff, forklift drivers, local drivers). AND, it's a foreigner running back and forth through the country, unsupervised with practically zero vetting done on entry. As horrible as NAFTA is and with the fact that it's letting Mexicans freely cross the border in trucks, I'd really hoped Trump would do something decent and actually renegotiate it or pull us out. Sadly the useless "wall" got the spotlight instead of something that would've made America better.

  4. If you'd like to live in a socialist country move to one. If you don't like what your landlord is doing, move. Your landlord owns the property, he can do what he wants to with it, as long as what he's doing isn't excluded in the lease.

  5.  @joedowning2428  - You're advocating for disempowering landlords. You're advocating for communal property, everyone shares. Is the fact that the UK gives tenants more rights than the US a good thing? I say "no", because I'm American and believe in personal property. The tenant doesn't own the property. If a tenant wants more rights than a landlord is willing to put in the contract, then the tenant needs to set property ownership above other goals and expenses.
