It may well be better that a product that wasn't approved for use is tossed than allowed to be used. You wouldn't want your daughter hooked up to a defective or insufficient machine.

Yup. Thru should pass a law banning guns in DC to stop this type of thing. Oh, wait. Right. Criminals ignore laws.

That treatment area is great for the sugar farms causing the pollution. They can continue business as usual.

I particularly enjoyed his eloquent use of the phrasing, "you be...". So, yes Joseph, please retract your statement asap before he harms the english language further (and, to avoid him tracking you down and making good on his threat, also!). /sarcasm off

@Beezlie727 - if you watch the video, you can see the model number and manufacturer and then do your own research as to why that model wasn't approved for use.

@nobodycares4321 - You actually backed up my point about how legislating away gun violence won't work. Want to stop gun violence? Address the root causes.

For comparison, I picked up a bony skinny stray off the street and vaccinations, heartworm pill and antibiotic for a urinary tract infection ran about $900 over 2 visits. (She was already spayed at some point, so I didn't have that expense.) I've never adopted from a shelter, so don't have experience with that and my previous dog (passed 15 years ago) came from a friend who's living situation changed. Granted, there was a markup on the services I paid for, so "cost" would be lower if a shelter wasn't trying to turn a profit. But, just saying that if the dog had everything sorted out at the shelter, that fee might not be as outrageous as it seems. Shelters are pretty well known to be overcrowded and underfunded. Although, the contract nonsense is pretty outrageous.

@krotchlickmeugh627 - what you wrote doesn't make sense.

@krotchlickmeugh627 - You misunderstand. What you typed, your syntax, makes no sense. You should take your own advice: re-read what you wrote. Then, slowly type out what you intended to say in a way that's intelligible.

@margaretgill4330 - we're talking about ventilators. He switches up to something about a vaccine and does so with typos and bad syntax. What he said makes no sense. However, I'm glad that you can understand him...not sure what that says about you, though.
3
@clairelivefreeordie2551 - they weren't allowed on the market. That's the point of the news story. The ventilators that weren't approved were trashed, not used. They pointed out that they're still in the packaging.
3
@edwardroche2480 - the video specifically stated that much of the pollution is from the sugar plantations. I didn't verify their information.
2
@goldendragon8393 - to be fair, guns are usually loud.

@McLaughlinsDarlingDaisyTKN It sounds like that shelter has very kind benefactors, receives plenty of public funds, has an endowment, or something along those lines. $40 wouldn't even keep the lights on, even if everyone there, vets included, were volunteers. The cost of food, vaccines, etc isn't cheap even at cost or bulk pricing.
2
If laws stop criminals, people who don't abide by the law, we should just pass laws against murder. That would solve the problem.
1
@McLaughlinsDarlingDaisyTKN I'm not saying I don't believe you. I'm just saying that the shelter is getting other money besides the adoption fees to stay open and provide vaccination, any other needed care, and food to animals staying there.

Please remember, the 2 simple rules of safe driving. #2 is just as important as rule 1. 1) Don't hit stuff 2) Do everything possible to prevent stuff hitting you Cars are 4,000+ lbs guided missiles. Don't be trusting of the other people operating these weapon systems to avoid injuring or eliminating you. When you're driving. Just drive. It's the thing you don't expect and don't see that will get you. So, focus on driving, not multi-tasking, and see everything possible and expect the unexpected. "It's her fault" didn't save the lives of the people who didn't expect her to fly through a red light. Expect that the other people operating these wheeled guided missiles are trying to eliminate you by surprise and be extra careful where you think you shouldn't expect someone to be.

Thirst and "companion" droids aren't available yet.

Shelter animals...as a service. Ridiculous.
