If Ukraine had been shelling Donetsk or Luhansk for 8 YEARS, there would be nothing left of the cities but rubble and no people living there because nowhere to live or work.

  13.  @itzfreyy532  - the "separatists" in 2014 were foreigners, mostly criminals and anarchists, that Russia brought to Ukraine to fight in "unconventional warfare". As an added bonus, the first president of the Donetsk People's Republic wasn't Russian OR Ukrainian. There was no genocide of ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. I have a Russian friend who fled Donetsk during the 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine and called the foreign "separatists" terrorists. Ethnic Russian civilians killed in 2014 were mostly at the hands of the foreign "separatists" as they used the same indiscriminate artillery attacks that Russia is now using to drive out the Ukrainian defenders (of course they were trained by Russian special forces on how to use captured equipment). My friend's Russian grandmother was killed by the "separatists" in such an attack. There was no genocide against ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. Get your information from normal people living there or continue being a sheep, blindly swallowing the lies you're being fed.

My friend IS from eastern Ukraine and still has friends and family, both in Donbas and primarily Russophone cities still under Ukraine control. There has been no genocide in eastern Ukraine. In fact, when I informed my friend, pre invasion, that it looked like Putin was up to something more than bluster and again coming "to save the Russians in Ukraine" (she doesn't pay attention to news) she called her people in eastern Ukraine and had no idea what she was talking about. There hasn't been genocide, obviously, only skirmishes on the 2014 front line and Ukraine hadn't done offensive operations since the Minsk ceasefire. Her people said that they were confused by the Donbas "government" offering to move people to safety in Russia (there were vids of this) because nobody was attacking. She said that they thought it meant Ukraine was going to begin attacks against Donbas. Of course, now we see it was Russia who sent troops into Donbas and began the fighting with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. So, there's certainly not been genocide in eastern Ukraine. There certainly hasn't been artillery shelling of eastern Ukraine by Ukraine military as is also a frequent misinformation claim. In 8 DAYS Russia turned several Ukraine cities into rubble. In 8 YEARS of shelling, there would be no buildings left in eastern Ukraine and no people either, with no homes or jobs and that would be visible from the air or satellite images. Of course, the vids of people leaving eastern Ukraine ahead of the alleged Ukrainian invasion of...eastern Ukraine also prove that people and buildings still exist, however fake the idea behind the video is. When Russia has had enough of their troops dying, they can go home and pay reparations to rebuild Ukraine for decades.

  22.  @Lavany5695  - the Donbas region didn't attempt to secede from Ukraine until after the original "separatists", which were foreign fighters trained and supported by Russian special forces troops, were moved into the Donbas region, by Russia. There was no secession. There was an invasion by Russia in 2014 by means of what Russia admitted was "asymmetrical warfare", using armed civilians, again mostly foreigners and criminals, to do take over control of Donbas and fight Ukraine. I have an ethnic Russian friend who was living in Donetsk in 2014. She fled the attack from the "separatists" (foreign fighters) who she called "terrorists". She was never under attack by Ukraine. She still has friends and family there in Donbas. They were not under attack by Ukraine since the 2014 cease fire. Donetsk and Luhansk were already mostly autonomous regions inside Ukraine. They governed themselves and didn't really pay much attention to Russia OR Ukraine.

Anyone WANTING TO see dead bodies in the video probably hasn't seen dead bodies in real life and can't make the connection that it isn't make up (like "beat up" Amber Heard's fake "injuries"), those aren't actors, and they aren't getting up. If you want to see dead bodies, you should probably schedule a counseling session to find out why.

  36. NONE of these deaths, on either side NEEDED happen. These troops are dying on both sides at Putin's whim to appease his ego and megalomania. Putin is attempting to show strength by acting weak and cowardly, attacking a peaceful neighbor that didn't have the capacity to threaten Russia militarily. I just wonder if these Russian officers knew that they were on the wrong side history and wrong side of good and evil. Did their duty to Putin make them follow blindly or did it prevent them from dissenting? Either way, their experience and leadership is gone and their troops understand that they are mortal, vulnerable, and the aggressors in a hostile land. Ukraine shouldn't have had to deal with this. But, they are defending themselves admirably.

Even if Zalensky WAS just acting (he did play a TV role as a normal guy who became president), he's there, in a besieged city, leading his country "from the front" visiting hospitals, etc and not just hiding in a bunker or calling in orders from some far off city in a different country (which he could've done by accepting the US offer to get him out of Ukraine).

Before renewing the invasion, Russia may have had a chance to keep the eastern "separatist" regions and Crimea. Now, after laying waste to Ukrainian cities in an a continuation of the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine of 2014, the only option is for Russia to leave entirely.

Ukraine gain land from before the war? Where did I suggest that? The war started in 2014 when Russia first invaded Ukraine. Ukraine's borders have been stable and established for 30 years. Back to my original post, Russia can leave all of Ukraine now and not pay reparations or Russia can leave Ukraine after being defeated and pay reparations. Russia got themselves into this mess on their own by attacking a poor, peaceful neighbor that had no aggression (and really no capability of) aggression towards Russia. Simple.
