Sure automation reduced the crew size which made them cheaper to operate but the smaller crew compromised the battle worthiness if the ship was to come under fire or have some other emergency (it's not unheard of for Navy ships to run into things).

  5. It may not have sunk, but that vessel and cargo is 100% scrap. The possible benefit of it not sinking is being able to examine it, if inspectors even feel safe to do so.

  6. Regarding Demasko, Long Island Watch is now a dealer for them, so no extra import fees (and great customer service) if you go through that dealer. I disagree with the assertion that micro brands are more expensive than similar level item from a mainstream brand. I have experience with Steinhart and Borealis. Both of these brands offer good quality and value, in their price points, in addition to good customer service. These 2 brands also hold their value remarkably well on the secondary market. So, trying one won't hurt so much if you change your mind or decide to move up. Archimede is a German brand that also looks to have a strong background. I'm a little disappointed that you touch on micro brands without looking imto these 3 solid brands that don't have the potential micro brand drawbacks. There are plenty of sketchy micros, though.

  7. 6:30 re, communications As you mentioned, this vehicle had previously list communication with the ship, sometimes for hours AND the ship also lost track of where the submersible was on previous dives because it wasn't getting the signal. Apparently it was pretty common AND the vessel didn't surface when it lost comms, which was supposedly the stated procedure.

  8. Visited a petsmart that had a cat room with a floor to ceiling window. Since my 16 month old rescued stray border collie husky mix has an INSANE prey drive, but never really seen a cat up close, I walked her up to the window. I was mindful of the cat's reactions. One cat came up to the window and the 2 were looking at each other and trying to sniff. When another stood up, my dog actually got spooked and backed up.

  9. Water doesn't put out EV fire and sea water could make it worse. Saw a firefighter talking about how they HATE EV fires because they're so, so hot compared to a gasoline fire and the cars will reignite even after being submerged in water.

  13. So, animal behavior scientists say that experiments show that dogs don't feel guilt or shame as we know it. The dogs simply react to differences in our tone or body language. This experiment obviously disproves the "scientists". Yuki clearly understood she did something wrong without any queues from the "sleeping" human. I had a similar real world (as opposed to a fake lab environment) experience with my dog. He'd gotten into the trash and pulled out some scraps making a mess. Something he knew was a no-no. I'd walked in and in my usual "happy to see my dog" voice greeted him warmly. It was then that I noticed his behavior was off and, at first, worried he was sick, when he didn't show his usual exuberance to my arrival and greeting. Only after noticing his odd behavior did I notice the mess he'd made. They may not feel the emotions or have the human understanding of the concepts, but some dogs absolutely demonstrate behavior associated with a feeling of guilt.

People support Trump precisely because he doesn't really believe in anything (except Trump) and this allows people to (incorrectly) attribute their own thoughts, morals, ideologies to Trump and then basically support themselves through him. There's no other reason why working class or Blue Collar Americans would support Trump considering Trump loathes people more the farther down the perceived wealth ladder they are from him and Trump actively endorses policies that would ease the tax burden on the ultra wealthy and shift that tax burden to the working class. Those people don't support Trump. They are attributing their own beliefs to Trump and then just following Trump's cult of personality. Trump is a populist and a salesman. He's going to sell people what they want and that's what they are, themselves, attributing to Trump.
