Another fantastic video Lewis. It is very interesting about the mystery jammer and the pilot tone. It was obviously someone quite technical. Probably something that the Andromeda crew had the expertise to do, (like Mr H.) but almost certainly not their style with an old friend.... Were the perpetrators ever identified later?

@richiehoyt8487 A handwritten letter is a good way of checking someone's basic literacy, command of the English language and breadth of vocabulary. Also, since it takes a while to write a good letter, it helps weed out the non-serious, speculative applicants.

@richiehoyt8487 It's certainly an interesting subject about how much one can gleam from these seemingly small preferences. Back in the early 1990s, when home PCs and printers were more of a rarity, and I worked for a large company, applicants normally applied for graduate jobs by filling in an application form. Completing the forms properly took about a day (poss. more) since the applicant would almost certainly have to consider their answers very carefully in advance to fit their handwritten responses in the boxes provided. Just about every applicant that we had was appropriate, and we could consider every application carefully because there were not too many of them. Every applicant got a custom reply from the HR department. Fifteen years later when the company had moved over to a CV based recruitment approach, along with the rest of the profession, we were inundated with CVs every week, most of which were speculative and inappropriate. We had to hire junior HR officers to sift through the applications, and only the lucky few that we wanted to consider further now got a reply! It is interesting how times change. My niece is in her final year at university and applying for jobs. The companies are providing her with questions in advance and asking for her to make a video of her answering them. That will take some time as well and perhaps cut down speculative applications somewhat. Maybe we have gone in a full circle?
